Babylon Zoo - Spaceman
MP3 - 1998

An indie rock record that deceptively made itself popular by being featured at double speed in a TV advert.  It's not bad but everyone groans when 30 seconds in the high speed intro suddenly pitches down to its original rate, revealing a run of the mill indie band.
Bananarama - The Very Best Of
MP3 - London / Warner - 0927414992 - 2001

A compilation of cheesy 80's pop outfit Bananarama.
Bangles - Different Light
LP - CBS - CBS26659 - 1985

80's pop outfit
Bangles - Everything
LP - CBS - 462979-1 - 1988 - With Poster

Compilation of Bangles hits
Basement Jaxx - The Singles
MP3 - XL - 2005

Pretty great album that suffered badly form being played to death on the TV.
Beach Boys - The Sound Of Summer
MP3 - 2003

I thought I'd try this due to their popularity but apart from the wonders of Good Vibrations it's too sickly sweet for me.
Beastie Boys - Licence to ill
CDR - Def Jam - 527-351-2 - 1986

Early rap effort from Beastie Boys.  Great album but badly dated.
Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique
CD - Capitol Records - CDP-7-91743-2 - 1989

Showing a great maturity in the band this brings their hip hop rap into a whole new era.  A very accomplished album that is unique in the collection.
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
CD - Grand Royal / Capitol Records - CDP-7-98938-2 - 1992

An awesome album that really showed how accomplished the beastie boys could be.  This album introduced the modern Beastie Boys style, or should that be styles.  Switching seamlessly from hip hop to skater thrash to sublime retro instrumentals this really has a bit of everything.

One of my all time favourite albums
Beastie Boys - Some Old Bullshit
CD - Grand Royal / Capitol Records - 0777-7-89843-2-0 - 1994

This does what it says on the tin, so don't ask for your money back.  This is a compilation of the early demo's the Beastie Boys released while they were still a young skate thrash act, before even the rap escapades of Licence to Ill.  To be fair it does hold some charm & is entertaining if you're willing to overlook the rough edges, & most importantly, some of those bursts of enegy in their later material wouldn't be there without this earlier incarnation.
Beastie Boys - Ill Comunication
CD - Grand Royal / Capitol Records - 7243-8-28599-2-5 - 1994

Another great album much in the vein of Check Your Head.  Just as acomplished and enjoyable.

One of my all time favourite albums
Beastie Boys - Aglio E Olio
CDR - Grand Royal / Polygram - GR026 - 1995 - Early Demo Compilation

Another foray into the early skate thrash incarnation of the Beastie Boys
Beastie Boys - The In Sound From Way Out
CD - Grand Royal / Capitol Records - 7243-8-33590-2-8 - 1996
Cardboard Case - Instrumental Compilation

This is really a stunning album & if not previously aware most people would be hard pushed to beleive this is the Beastie Boys. This is a compilation of the sublime instrumentals that have peppered their allbums with no hip hop or skate thrash in sight & is a pleasure to chill out too.
Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty
CD - Grand Royal / Capitol Records - 7243-4-95723-2-4 - 1998 - Cardboard Case

This is by no means a bad album but I have to say it is probably the weaker of their modern incarnation & leans more into the pop direction than I would like it too.
Beastie Boys - To The 5 Boroughs
CD - Polygram / Parlaphone - 473-3310 / 7243-4-73331-0-1 - 2004

Still slightly pop edged but with a return to some of their more hip hop roots in places.
Beastie Boys - The Mix Up
Beastie Boys - The Mix-Up
CD - Brooklyn Dust Music / Capitol Records / EMI - 50999-500111-24 - 2007
Cardboard Case - Instrumental Compilation

Another great instrumental efford.  Not quite a sublime as The In Sound From Way Out but still a great listen.
Beatles, The - 1962-1966
LPx2 - Apple Records - PCSP717 / OC192 / 05307-8  - Undated - Gatefold

I'm by no means a big Beatles fan & resisted owning any Beatles material for a long time on the principle of their over hyped popularity.  However we all grow up & they did write some great tunes.
Beatles, The - 1967-1970
LPx2 - Apple Records - PCSP718 / OC192 / 05307-10 - Undated - Gatefold - LP1 Missing

Sadly my favourite era of the beatles is missing here due to the first LP being broken.
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Beatles, The - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
CD - Apple/EMI - CDP-7-46442-2 - 1967 (1987) - Ltd Edition with Card Outer Sleeve & Booklet
LP - Parlaphone/EMI - PCS7727 - 1967 - With insert sleeve cut-out props
Bedingfield, Daniel - Gotta Get Through This
MP3 - AMG - 2002

Not sure how this commercial pap got into my collection.  But secretly I quite like his naf pop.
Bentley Rhythm Ace - Bentleys Gonna Sort You Out
CDR - 1997

A difficult to classify act.   Uniquely entertaining in a fashion.
Betty Boo - Boomania
LP - Rhythm King - LEFT LP12 - 1990 - With postcard Set

Something leftover from my schooldays.  Surprisingly fast pop-rap when you listen back to it & a fairly cute girl to boot.
Bjork - Debut
CD - One Little Indian - TLPLP31CDX - 1993

This is a stunning album that combines Bjorks quirkyness with a great production team to give outstanding results.

One of my all time favourite albums
Bjork - Post
CDR - One Little Indian - TPLP-51-CD - 1995

Bjork starts to veer of into her own quirky world here after the enormous succes of Debut affords her freedom to express herself fully.  Still a good album but doesn't reach the heights of Debut.
Bjork - Telegram
CD - One Little Indian - TPLP51CDT - 1996

Possibly one of the most dissappointing remix albums I have bought.  This doesn't so much remix the tracks, rather its distorts & twists them into a dreadful racket.
Bjork - Homogenic
CD - One Little Indian - TPLP71CD - 1997

Pure Bjork.
Black Label Society - Sonic Brew
CDR - Spitfire 1995

OK, Zakk Wylde is an accomplished guitarist having played & toured with some of the greats out there, but for me an album needs a soul more than great playing & this doesn't quite grip me like it should.
BlackSabbath BlackSabbath Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath
CD - Castle Communications - ESM-CD-301-GAS-0000301ESM - 1996 (1970)

I often love debut albums for they show a bands flexibility in style that is often lost when a commercially succesful formula arises.  There are some real great mellow moments here that don't appear in Sabbaths later career, making this an enjoyable listen.

One of my all time favourite albums
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
LP - NEMS - NEL6003 - 1976 (1970) - Gatefold
CD - Castle Communications - ESM-CD-302-GAS-0000302ESM - 1996 (1970)

Possibly the most influencial heavy rock album in history, Paranoid really threw Black Sabbaths dark rock to the masses & heavy metal would not been the same without it.  Personally I think its a real shame that the true title track Warpigs was demoted after the succes of the far inferiour track Paranoid & should be re-instated for future pressings, if only to make sense of the disastrous sleeve artwork.
Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
CD - Castle Communications - ESM-CD-303-GAS-0000303ESM - 1996 (1971) - Outer Card Case - Remastered

Another fantastic outing for Black Sabbath.  Possibly more mature than Paranoid & Vol4 making it a favourite of mine.
Black Sabbath - Vol.4
CD - Castle Communications - ESM-CD-304-GAS-0000304ESM - 1996 (1972)

Vol4 probably has the catchiest riffs of these albums, they will hook into you & buzz around your head for hours.
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
CD - Castle Communications - ESM-CD-305-GAS-0000305ESM - 1996 (1973)

A shift in sound for Sabbath, Ozzy's vocals seem to shift up a gear here changing the gloomier sound to a more energetic & higher pitched wail with the guitars shifting to match.
Black Sabbath - Live At Last
Black Sabbath - Live At Last
CD - Sanctury / Universal - 2749910 - 2010 (1973)

Released against Black Sabbath's wishes, this is one of the few live release from the band.
SABOTAGE Black Sabbath - Sabotage
CD - Castle Communications - ESM-CD-306-GAS-0000306ESM - 1996 (1975)

Another great album
Black Sabbath - Never Say Die
LP - Phonogram / Vertigo - 9102-751 - 1978

This is about where Black Sabbath lost their distinctive edge & started to become more modernised.  I forget this one, will need to relisten.
Black Sabbath - Mob Rules
CD - Gimcastle - ESM-CD-332-GAS-0000332ESM - 1996 (1981)

Post Ozzy Sabbath.  Much more modern than previous output but still pretty enjoyable.
Black Sabbath - Best Of Black Sabbath
MP3 - Castle Communications - 2000

13 Black Sabbath - 13
CD - Vertigo / Universal - 3735426 - 2013
Blondie - The Best Of Blondie
LP - Chrysalis - CDLTV1 - 1981

A great collection of Blondie tracks
Blondie - The Essential Collection
MP3 - EMI Gold - 1999

Another great collection of blondie tracks
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear The Reaper, The Best Of...
CD - Columbia / Legacy - 495243-2 - 1983

Some classic rock bought primarily for the awesome Don't Fear The Reaper title track
Blur - Leisure
CDR - Food / Parlaphone - UK-FOODCD-6 / CDP-7975062 - 1991

Enjoyable 90's pop-rock.  Deserves to be in anyones collection as a soundtrack to the decade.
Blur - Modern Life is Rubbish
CDR - Food / Parlaphone - UK-FOODCD-9 / 0777-7-89442-2-5 - 1993

Enjoyable 90's pop-rock.  Deserves to be in anyones collection as a soundtrack to the decade.
Blur - Parklife
MP3 - Japanese Import -1994

Enjoyable 90's pop-rock.  Deserves to be in anyones collection as a soundtrack to the decade.
Blur - Blur
CDR - Food / Parlaphone - UK-FOODCD-19 / 7243-8-55562-2-7 - 1997

Enjoyable 90's pop-rock.  Deserves to be in anyones collection as a soundtrack to the decade.
Blur - Best Of Blur
MP3 - Food / Virgin - 2000

Compilation of Blur hits that is enjoyable from start to end
Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer
7" - Vertigo / Phonogram - VER28 - 1986

Possibly the first heavy rock single I ever got into.
Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
LP - Phonogram / Vertigo - VERH38 - 1986
CDR - 1986

A fantastic but cheesy 80's rock album that I still love to listen to now.
Bon Jovi - New Jersey
CDR - 1988

Slightly more modern than Slippery & probably the heaviest they ever got.  Another great album.
Bon Jov - iLay Your Hands On Me
12" - Phonogram / Vertigo - UK-JOV-612 / 834-737-1 - 1989

A great single from the New Jersey album
Bon Jovi - Keep The Faith
MP3 - Mercury - 1992

This is too
much modern pap for me.  My Bon Jovi phase was short.
Bon Jovi - Cross Road
MP3 - Mercury - 1994

More modern pap
Bon Jovi - These Days
MP3 - Mercury - 1995

More modern pap
Bon Jovi - Crush
MP3 - Island - 2000

More modern pap
Bon Jovi - Bounce
MP3 - Def Jam - 2002

More modern pap
Bowie, David - The Man Who Sold The World
MP3 - Divine Recordings - 1970

Bowie was never quite my thing but I have a lot of respect for his music.  I find his albums can be hard work in places but he certainly new how to write great singles
Bowie, David - Ziggy Stardust
MP3 - EMI - 1971

Possibly one of the most famous Bowie albums
Bowie, David - Space Oddity
MP3 - Divine Recordings - 1972

More 70's Rock
David Bowie Best Of
Bowie, David - The Best OF 1969/1974
Bowie, David - Aladdin Sane
MP3 - Divine Recordings - 1973

Starting to modernise a bit here
Bowie, David - Diamond Dogs
MP3 - Virgin - 1974

More 70's Rock
Bowie, David - Changes
LP - RCA Victor - RS1055 - 1975

Singles were always Bowies strong point & this is a great compilation that show him at his best.
Bowie, David - Station To Station
MP3 - Virgin - 1976

Can't remember this one, need to dig it out & hve a listen.
Bowie, David - Lets Dance
LP - EMIAML3029 - 1983

Now this album I love.  It may not be traditional Bowie but it is great modern rock thats catches you like every track was a single.  The production here is also very clean & easy to listen to.

One of my all time favourite albums
Bowie, David - Hunky Dory
MP3 - EMI - 1990

Another one I need to refresh my memory of.
Bowie, David  - Scary Monsters
CD - EMI7243-521895-0-2 - 1999

Enjoyable modern Bowie.  Not quite as catchy as Lets Dance but contains the stunning Ashes to Ashes single.
Breeders, The - Last Splash
CD - 4.A.D.CAD3014-CD - 1993

Very quirky
female indie rock bought on a whim.  Great songwriting & an enjoyable listen.
Brujeria - Matando Gueros
MP3 - Roadrunner - 1993

An album unique for the disturbing photos on the sleeves of a person hit by a train.  Death metal that is unintentionally funny due to the south american accents.
Jake Bugg
Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg
MP3 - 2012

I'm not sure why but I really kinda like this.
Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison
CD - 20:20 Entertainment - TOURMENT50CD - 2005

Quite a modern band for my tastes but enjoyable in small doses
Bush, Kate - The Kick Inside
LP - EMIEMC3223 / 062-06-603 - 1978 - UK Cover

Enjoyable music from a legend in female vocals
Bush, Kate - The Whole Story
MP3 - 1986

A very enjoyable compilation
